Our trainer

& why he can help you

He’s an author, consultant, keynote speaker and corporate trainer in workplace dynamics. More importantly, when he’s not doing that, he’s a practicing wet-gloved dentist…

                                                                                                …just like you.

Just like you…

As a consultant, Dr. K. J. Orieux, has helped thousands of professionals reposition their practice in good times and bad. What makes Dr. Orieux unique amongst other practice management trainers however, is that not only is he a dentist, but he was also the Vice President of a marketing and advertising company prior to attending dental school.

Having spent years gaining expertise in the corporate world of marketing and sales, he learned invaluable business management skills. When he applied his expertise in the dental realm, this competitive edge enabled him to establish a private practice ranked in the top 1% of efficiency BEFORE the onset of the recession.

But now things are even better.

…with a few exceptions…

Dr. Orieux brings a very unique form of business expertise to his dental colleagues.  Prior to dental school he studied sociology and economics, ultimately working up the office of Vice President of an advertising and marketing company.  This experience was to become foundational to him purchasing a dying practice in 1990 with only 300 active charts, and growing that practice to 7,000 charts in less than ten years.

The reason for this explosive success was Dr. Orieux’s ability to apply the sciencesof consumerism, socio-economics and social psychology.  If you go to TED.com and search for Kevin Orieux you will find a TED talk that will give you more insight into his experience and expertise.

What doctors find most amazing about his presentations, is that he explains how past socio-economic phenomena can be translated into future socio-economic trend.  He literally predicts the future and has been called by national leaders “the Dental Futurists”.

Dr. Orieux is quick to explain that this is not crystal ball psychic fair stuff, it is scientific research that can make reasonable predictions, not of the future, but of trends in consumerism.  Then he explains the difference and once those in the audience learn how to think like a socio-economist, they get very excited to take that knowledge and make changes to their practices based on empirical evidence.

The Dental Futurist – More Fact than Fiction

The Crash of 2008 was predictable, as any of you have seen the Big Short will now realize.  The indicators were there and Aararat Consulting was in the midst of the research.  Based on what Dr. Orieux saw coming, in 2006, he began teaching audiences how to prepare for a major global economic downturn. He backed this prediction by writing a book called “What’s Your ROI? ” which was a veritable survival manual for what we now know as the Crash of 2008. This book provides corporations with the navigation tools to create the kind of synergy and teamwork required to weather any storm.

In the aftermath of the Crash of 2008, Dr. Orieux wrote a second book called “Survive, Thrive or Dive” which was a groundbreaking instruction manual for creating a corporate climate where everyone in your business becomes “engaged” and lives out a vision and mission for superior customer service, market expansion, increased productivity and stellar profitability.

And it works.  After the Crash of 2008, Dr. Orieux’s practice thrived, growing by an unprecedented 27% during a time when more than 85% of dentists have seen patient flow, productivity and prosperity take a pounding.  Dentists who then took the Recession Proof Your Practice training program reported similar testimonies of achieving productivity and profitability they would never have thought possible.

As the economy recovered, Dr. Orieux stopped teaching dental audiences to focus on the Corporate world, where the biggest problem plaguing Corporate America is what Dr. Orieux calls a social disease of epidemic proportions – DISENGAGEMENT.  This is the subject of his TED talk and 25 years of socio-economic research.

With COVID-19 descimating dental practices in ways even worse that the Crash of 2008, Dr. Orieux has partnered with industry leaders to once again guide and mentor his colleagues away from financial disaster, to financial stability, especially in the face of the socio-economic aftermath that is still to come from COVID-19.
